Tumor Targeting and Imaging
Controlling the serum half-life was key for custom Fab molecules and diabodies we produced for use in tumor imaging studies. These antibody fragments were specifically labeled with a collaborator’s proprietary PEGs to precisely regulate the clearance rate in serum. These conjugates were then used for successful tumor imaging studies.
Clinical and POC diagnostics
Finding the right way to label a biologic was key when we helped a client develop a sensitive clinical diagnostic for the flu. We developed a custom labeling method, as the biomolecule lost activity using the client’s normal procedure.
Clinical Cell Biology
Working with a cancer immunotherapy company that created a personalized adoptive cell therapy, our scientists developed a GLP compliant assays to support Phase II clinical trials. These procedures included ex vivo manipulation of patient-derived blood cells to measure the production of key cytokines, the establishment of cell proliferation assays, performing FACS analysis of cell surface markers, and demonstrating effective tumor cell killing by the client’s novel therapeutic. Our results will be used to support FDA approval and advance the biologic to Phase III clinical trials.
To optimize a cell-free production system, we engineered several folding enhancing chaperone genes into a specific loci on the production strain. Using synthetic DNA, we systematically engineered the strain’s chromosome to deliverer a robust protein production system while producing the required chaperone proteins in specific concentrations.
